I first met Dave at the TT, he was on his way back from an Endurance race in Ireland and popped over to 'the' Island to see one our crew and to say 'Hi' and ride the circuit a few times. The way I met Dave was rather unfortunate, as he ran me over on his YZF, by rear ending me on my YZF, luckily as he continued to ride over my legs, (as I lay on the ground), and then ran over my bike too, he didn't fall off or I may have been injured....seriously. However, the fun he and I had after that trying to scour the paddock for parts from Neil Mackenzie and the Cadburys Boost team was hilarious, it even worked to a degree, but true to his word, Dave paid every penny to have the bike put right and after that we became firm friends and often met up at the Ring sharing many beers and laughs in Renate's. I lost touch a bit a few years back when he moved out to Spain, but the memories never fade, he really was one in a million, we'll all miss the big fella, that's for sure. Tet
